Kristen Scheel serves as the Chief Executive Officer at Sero Mental Health and is based in Atlanta, Georgia. With a lifelong passion for behavioral health, she brings 20 years of experience spanning clinical, business, and executive roles.

 

Before joining Sero, Kristen served as Chief Operating Officer at Refresh Mental Health, overseeing full-continuum mental health services across 320+ locations in 37 states. She was Director of Business Development and Admissions at RiverMend Health since inception, where she helped build and expand national full-continuum eating disorder, substance use, and mental health treatment centers. Earlier in her career, she worked at Universal Health Services and completed clinical training at University of Minnesota.

 

Kristen earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Augsburg College and her Master’s in Counseling and Psychological Services from St. Mary’s University. Outside of work, she’s an avid adventurer who enjoys her family, rock climbing, boxing, board sports, and traveling.
